If you hold ERC20 SHx tokens, you'll need to upgrade them to the new contract before using upcoming Stronghold services. This guide walks you through the process step by step.

Step 1: Read the FAQ First

Step 2: Perform the Upgrade
Visit https://gateway.stronghold.co/upgrade and use the form to upgrade your tokens. You will need to execute two transactions to perform the upgrade.
- Approve the upgrade contract to move your old SHx
- Execute the upgrade
Step 3: Confirm Your Upgrade
After your transaction completes:
- Check for the new SHx token balance in your wallet
- Verify the transaction on Etherscan
- Save your transaction hash
If tokens don't appear, check your balances on the upgrade page, see step 4 below, and consult the FAQ troubleshooting section.
Step 4: (If Needed) Add the New Token to Your Wallet
If you performed the upgrade and no longer see an SHx balance, manually add the new SHx contract so upgraded tokens appear correctly:
- Open your wallet → "Import Token" or "Add Custom Token"
- Paste the NEW SHx contract address: 0x516d31321928700C6B4fB0DB0c8c6BC5d6799787
- Confirm details (you should see SHX as the token name with 7 decimals, if not, enter that).
- Save
🕓 Note: Balances may take time to update. If your transaction shows on Etherscan but tokens aren't visible yet, wait a bit.
